In 2010, I was seeking out a more challenging job. With unemployment on the rise and 11 years of marketing experience, I was afraid to be lumped into group of qualified candidates without differentiating myself. How could I stand out? How could I make my skills relevant? How could I find a company that shared my values?
That's when I saw Abi Jones' visual resume.
And I was inspired to create my own visual resume, using a premise I learned in college: ALWAYS maximize the medium. Here's the final product.
When I finished the video, I found a perfect job posting. I used LinkedIn to determine that one connection could introduce me to someone at the company. Within a week, I had a job offer that I accepted from Verus Global. It's the story of how I landed an extraordinary job.
